Archaeology of habitat

Example 2

Material and cultural reference.

Working room

This example reads the kitchen as a working room rather than as a display wall. The shelves stay shallow, the palette stays quiet, and the task surfaces sit inside the same tonal family as the rest of the home.

Social room

The companion living space uses nearly the same materials but changes the spacing and the softness. That small shift is enough to make the room feel slower and more collective.

Resting room

The final image is useful because it shows how the same neutral register can extend into a sleeping space without becoming flat. Exterior planting gives the room depth without adding visual noise.
